"Doing things right or doing the right thing"

I just had a meeting with a small business owner who is looking to create sustainability policies for his company. It was a great meeting and very inspiring to speak with someone who is truly committed to making better decisions. He said to me, "There is a difference between doing things right and doing the right thing". Wow!

What is right - is it correct? Sensible? Morally right?
Assuming that it is correct, then one should consider that doing the "right thing" is the effective, sensible thing. In business, it could be a marketing strategy - or it could be considered the strategic decision.Strategically, do the right thing.
Then, having decided on the "right strategy" - the right thing, you now impletment the strategy - operationally, you now do the exercise correctly - right? You are now doing the right thing, and doing things right. Right?
